Finally, the Addiction Cure Is Here, Right?

[106967-104604]

"The promise of an addiction cure is alluring, but the evidence keep suggesting that for those who meet chronic addiction criteria, the cure is going to be a combination of approaches." "This is going to be about the tool-box not any individual tool."

The experts are overlooking another important tool - The Bible. Traditionally, secular experts have frowned on the efficacy of religion with respect to addiction treatment. Dr. Carl Rogers, arguably the most influential Psychologist of 20th Century said, “When you first accept yourself as you truly are, only then can you begin to change.” Rogers, also believed that people have an actualizing tendency, or a desire to fulfill their potential and become the best people they can be. So does Jesus Christ and he wrote about it over 2014 years ago.

Celebrate Christ Recovery, is the Celebration of the values of Jesus Christ. It is a form of Cognitive Behavior Therapy or Christian Behavior Therapy that utilizes Biblical principles and mores, specifically employing the 8 Beatitudes, which are statements on life's values. You deal with hurts, habits or hang-ups from a biblical philosophical perspective, with emphasis on socially and morally appropriate behavior as taught by Jesus Christ in the pages of the Bible. Change your thinking, change your life.

Like other recovery programs, Celebrate Recovery isn’t for those who need it, but for those who want it. This recovery program is forward-looking. Rather than wallowing in the past, or dredging up and rehearsing painful memories over and over, Celebrate Recovery focuses on the future. Celebrate Recovery isn’t just about alcoholics, addicts, and those who love them, but also about the hurts, habits and hang-ups that affect us all.

Addiction therapy/recovery is evolving. Today, there are basically three models:

1. Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous Programs: (AA/NA -12 Step programs).
2. Custom Clinical Approaches that empower the individual and are based on free will,
choice and empirical studies and modern research.
3. Support groups, including
SMART Recovery, Women for Sobriety, LifeRing, SOS, Moderation Management (MM), HAMS Harm Reduction, and more. Individuals are encouraged to attend any/all mutual support, counseling, in- or out-patient treatment, etc.

There is a 4th model. This paradigm is Celebrate Christ Recovery, a unique therapeutic model that can save your life physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Celebrate Christ Recovery is about Reality, Research and Responsibility. Celebrate Christ Recovery isn't rocket science, it's good science, in the support of modern day principles and precepts of psychology and neurobiology. It is based on values, character, empowerment, motivation and the ability to change your thinking and change your life. You could say that Celebrate Christ Recovery is actually the study of Neuroplasticity and its relationship to the Cardio-Vascular system and the need for a purposeful-palpable Soul. Celebrate Christ Recovery is the Spiritual Psychotherapy of Character.

There is no reason why anyone with any hurt, habit, or hang up cannot be helped. The Person-God partnership simply needs to be more powerful than any hurt, habit or hangup.

Behind everything you do is a THOUGHT.

Every BEHAVIOR is motivated by a BELIEF.

Every ACTION is prompted by an ATTITUDE.

-----------------------------------------------------------

With respect to behavior, life is about, emotions, beliefs, thinking and control.

"A fool vents all his feelings, But a wise man holds them back."Proverbs 29:11 (Displaced Behaviors)

"Do not be conformed by this world but instead by the renewing of your mind." Romans 12:2 (Direct Behavior)

When you think and empower yourself and surrender control to God, when you Intelligently Delegate Control to God (2 Corinthians 12:9-10),

God returns that control to you with a, “Helper," the Holy Spirit, (John 14:16) a form of Reciprocal Innervation.

You regain control: "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

No longer are you subject to corrupted displaced thinking but instead are transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2).

This is where science and scripture intertwine, where Christ Driven Behavior brings, values, control, cause, character and purpose driven behavior, the fruits of the spirit Galatians 5:22-23 .

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17.

------------------------------------------------------------

Proverbs 29:11 "A fool vents all his feelings, But a wise man holds them back."

Romans 12:2: Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

2 Corinthians 12-9:“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

John 14:16: "He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—"

Philippians 2:13: "for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure."

Galatians 5:22-23 "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Ephesians 4:22-23 "...put away the old person you used to be. Have nothing to do with your old sinful life. It was sinful because of being fooled into following bad desires. Let your minds and hearts be made new."

Life is about finding Purpose. When you have a, "Global Purpose," in life, healthy direct assertive thinking and behavior follow.

Change your thinking, change your life!
